SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
FOR PHOTOS, MUSIC, and VIDEO |
To make your DVD a high-quality production, it is important to follow several guidelines
when submitting items to be included in your video. These guidelines
also help us "streamline" our submission process and lets our customers know
about the equipment we have available. Please follow the guidelines below
when submitting your materials.
PHOTOGRAPHS
SIZE - Photographs should be no smaller than wallet-sized and no larger than
10"x13" in size. Photographs that are between 4"x6" (regular snapshot prints)
and 8"x10" work best for your production. We will also accept photos on disk
or CD. If there are problems with photos submitted on disk or CD, such as
file type, size, or quality, we will let you know before creating your
production.
QUALITY - Both color prints and
black & white photos work well for productions. If an large amount of
photos have tears, rips, discoloration, or other irregularities, there may
be an extra charge for production of these images.
COPYRIGHTED IMAGES - Usually,
images from a professional photographer or studio will be copyrighted. In
order to use them, you must receive written permission from the photographer
or studio. Most photographers will gladly grant you this permission, as it
is a different form of media in which you will be using their product. Also,
most studios have a time frame in which the photographs have been copyrighted.
If your professional photo is several years old, it may be out of the copyright
jurisdiction, and be able to be copied without permission.
MUSIC
If you have a specific song or songs that you would like included in your DVD, we would be glad to include it for you. In order to
include your song, submit the song to us on its original CD or tape. We cannot
accept burned or copied CD's, as this may violate copyright regulations.
If you are unable to include an original copy of a favorite song on CD or
tape, let us know and we can purchase the music for you and add it to your
production cost. Please note that for each copy of a video you are requesting
using copyrighted music, you must also own one copy of the audio recording
(or the individual who will own the video copy must own an original copy
of the audio recording). Again, we can purchase this music for you for the
copies you request and add it to your production cost.
Also, Querry Music Productions
has a vast library of music that we can select music from to fit your production,
if you so choose. If you do not make any special music requests, we will
select music for you. Please note that due to turn-around time on funeral
videos, music from our library will be selected.
VIDEO
Adding motion video is an option you may wish to include for your DVD. In order for us to be able to use your videotapes, they must
be submitted in one of the following formats: VHS, VHS-C, Standard 8mm Cassette,
Mini DV, or DVD. If you have video in other formats, we can assist you in
finding a vendor to transfer your video into a format we can use. You may
also submit computer CDs that have motion video you wish to use. On computer
CDs, .avi video files are of the highest quality. Formats such as .wmv, .mpg,
and .qtm can be used, but may be of slightly lesser quality in your finished
product.
If you have any questions about
items to submit for your project that we have not covered on this page, please
feel free to contact us and we will assist you in
any way that we can.
